CARICATURES: Quickie Retail Drawings

Sorry for the lack of updates, folks. Desperately trying to finish up some projects. Some cartoon, some not.
Did go out tonight and drew some caricatures. Presented here are some demo drawings to lure in the customers. Not as wacky as I normally draw. Around 5 minutes for lines, 5 minutes for color. Using Prisma Art Stix to get wider coverage in less time. I usually like markers or watercolors, but the clocks ticking. It was freaking cold tonight, thanks to the people who made it out. I also caught a cool art show at a local place called ALPHACULT.

OBAMA

I know I'm late to the party. Prez Obama has been caricatured up the wazoo. Patrick gave a nice step by step tutorial here. Above is my attempt.

I had to try drawing him my own way. Here he is in all his wobbly, wonky goodness.

DIGITAL INKS: Caricatures by John K.

Further inking studies using the John K caricatures as practice, and the current tips on his blog. These are really fun to ink. The sketches are really great, especially if you get a chance to see them in person. I got a chance at EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY a couple years back. I'm still not satisfied with the line widths and some angles. If I get a chance I'll ink some more. Let me know what I should work on for next time.

This is for the NCN forums, where caricature artists post pics of themselves for other artists to draw. I tried to do an airbrush-like color, like the caricatures you would get at a County Fair. I should stick to black and white!

YELLOW MAN

This is a drawing of the yellow man zombie from the classic movie "RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD". This movie does a great job of recreating the old EC comics. It's like they took a Jack Davis comic and made it move. Funny and creepy at the same time. It has designs by William Stout. Go out and rent it or buy it for your Halloween party.
